About the event

Gardening with Natives 101 - Planting Practicum: How and When to Plant Native Plants

Join the Heritage Garden Program for our Fall 2023 practicum workshop!  Planting time is upon us and what better way to celebrate than to learn the best practices for Fall in the native garden.  First, we’ll cover some of the basics of how and why to plant native species, including why Fall is the best time to get plants in the ground.  Then, we’ll get outside for some practical application of the knowledge by planting a part of the new pollinator Heritage Garden at the Richland Public Library.  Bonus:  we’ll also cover some best practices for creating safe spaces for pollinators to overwinter and cover some troubleshooting in the garden.  All are welcome to this free event!
