Yakima Area Arboretum Heritage Garden...

Thanks to the efforts of the Central Washington Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society, the extensive planting of native plants in this dryland garden at the Yakima Area Arboretum will allow for the entire area to be Certified—including those cacti and yucca not native to our region. Once certified, this Heritage Garden will be one of the first demonstration Heritage Gardens open to the public for observation in Yakima County. Though it will undergo another round of planting or two and additional maintenance before Certification, this doesn’t mean you can’t come see some of the beautiful blooms yourself!
